can vampire protect themselves with umbrellA??
Yes they can! Vampires will automatically pull out a parasol or umbrella to protect themselves from direct UV rays.

With aliens - will there be an option in the menu to turn them off, like there is for many of the other occult types?
There isn't a checkbox for the aliens in the population controls as the aliens don't actually live in your world. They'll come in their UFO to visit and gather data on earthlings, and even perform the occasional abduction, but the only way to get aliens living in your world is to invite them into your household.

Will there be new toddler clothes and objects for them?
There are new toddler clothes! They need a way to bundle up and stay warm in the winter after all. That being said, there aren't any new toddler specific objects.

I'd like to know a bit more about wildflowers, please.
And, if I create a world using CAW now, will my sims be able to swim in the ocean? Do I just have to remove some of the non-routable paint?
Wildflowers tend to appear in the Spring... you can find them around the world, and even pick them and bring them home to place in a vase that you can decorate the house with. That being said, watch out for allergies when collecting them
As for CAW, worlds that have already been created should work fine with swimming in the ocean. Non-routable terrain paint isn't a problem, Sims can swim over that. The area that Sims are not allowed to swim through is anywhere that has the camera blocking paint placed.

My question about seasons... Will the weather follow appropriate patterns according to the worlds? For example, will Sunlit Tides have snow in winter, or will it stay summer like as would be appropriate for a tropic island? Also, will there be sliders or some other way to control the severity of the seasons? I love Lucky Palms, but it would much less believable and probably would like it less if the weather patterns didn't make sense for the desert (torrential rains day after day would NOT make sense).
We've provided lots of new controls so that you can change the behavior of seasons in your different worlds to your heart's content. First is the seasons themselves... you can enable or disable any season you like; for example if you want an eternal Summer in Lucky Palms, or only Spring and Summer in Sunlit Tides, you can do that. Going one step further, you can control the length of each season as well... for each season that you enable, it can last from anywhere as short as 3 days, to as long as 28 days. Finally, we're giving you control over the weather itself. Let's say you still wanted it to get cold in Twinbrook, but didn't want it to actually snow there. You can individually turn on or off each of the different types of weather.
The best part of all of this is that these settings are saved to the individual save file, so any time you change them it only counts towards your current save. That way you can set different options for each of the various worlds you play in!

Oh! Also, I love how my sims can protect themselves from the cold by joining the 'Polar Bear Club', great idea! Will it be permanent? And how can I protect my sims from lightning?
The best protection from lightning is to simply not go outdoors when there's a heavy thunderstorm. If you must venture out, I'd suggest sending any Sims that managed to get singed inside as quickly as they can get there.

The Depth Of Field effect on the demo is awesome, wouldn't that give a tilt shift effect and make the city look miniature?
So glad you noticed that! It's a new hazy effect that occurs when there's thick fog in the world; I've always loved fog myself and I think it looks incredible. It's totally different from the tilt shift aesthetic used by SimCity though, so be sure to check it out when you grab Seasons.

will there be new outerwear for pregnant sims?
There is new outerwear that was created for pregnant Sims to keep them warm even when it's chilly outside. In addition, the alien's special polymer suit was specially created to conform to the expanding baby bump of the alien mother, keeping their child well protected until it's born.
mackeemac wrote:
Will the sims automatically change to outerwear in winter?
Yes, they'll automatically change into outerwear when going outside when it's cold, and back to their normal clothes when going inside."
